- Prepare specific questions whose answers are not obvious on the institution's website.
- Rehearse listening, clarification, transitions, and a truthful answer when the applicant does not know.
- Test travel or technology, prepare materials and contact details, and define the follow-up action.

- Do not coach a personality, interest, or commitment the applicant cannot defend.
- Avoid confidential school, family, health, or peer information not needed for the answer.
- If asked an inappropriate or prohibited question, decline briefly and redirect to relevant experience.
