Sleep week
Use with: build-website. Resume line when done: Ran {project_name}, a seven-night self-measurement study, published with methods at {url}
Brief
A notebook by the bed, seven nights of numbers, then a chart and one honest paragraph about what the data says versus what you tell people. Most people claim a number ("I get about seven hours"); this project checks yours against a week of evidence.
Personalize
- Your claim, on record. Before night one, write down what you believe your average is. That sentence goes on the page next to the measured result.
- Your measures. Lights-out time, wake time, and a 1-to-5 rested score are enough. A phone or watch tracker can run alongside as a second opinion, but the notebook is the primary record.
- Your disclosure line. Sleep data is health-adjacent. Publish the numbers, or publish the write-up with the table summarized; either is a valid project.
Milestones
- Write the pre-registration: your claimed average, the measures, and the seven nights, dated before you start.
- Collect: notebook entry every morning within an hour of waking.
- Structure the entries into one data file; compute the average and the spread.
- Chart the week, zero-based axis, every night shown.
- Publish: chart, table (or summary), and the paragraph comparing claim to measurement.
Done means
- Live URL with the pre-registered claim and the measured result side by side
- Seven consecutive mornings logged; any gap shown as a gap
- The paragraph reports the comparison without excuses or promises
- Notebook (or a photo of it) kept as the primary source
- At least 4 commits across at least 3 distinct days, authored by you
- SESSIONS.md has an entry per session, written by you
