Brief
A yearbook site for your friend group: photos, superlatives, and a timeline of the year's moments, made to be looked at again in ten years. Every person gets a page, and every person controls what is on their own page. It ships while the year is still fresh enough that people argue about the captions.
Personalize
- The group. Your actual friends, by name, with the photos from your phones. Four people is enough; a whole class is too many for a week.
- The superlatives. Your group's own categories, voted on by the group. Skip anything that would sting; the test is whether the person laughing hardest at each award is the person who won it.
- The timeline. The moments your group already retells. If a story gets told at every hangout, it goes in.
Milestones
- Pitch the group and collect a yes from everyone who will appear. Anyone who declines is simply left out, without commentary.
- One page live at a URL with the group name and one photo.
- Photos gathered from everyone's phones, picked down to the good ones, each subject okay with each photo of them.
- Person pages built; each friend reviews their own page and their superlative before it goes live.
- Timeline page written and put in order.
- Link sent to the group chat; corrections and protests handled. Final README.
Done means
- Live URL responding; readable on a phone
- Every person who appears consented to their page, their photos, and their superlative, recorded in the README
- The link was shared in the group chat and the group has seen it
- Timeline covers the year with dates, in order
- At least 8 commits across at least 5 distinct days, authored by you
- SESSIONS.md has an entry per session, written by you
