Working Resume skill

Write a research cv

Write a research CV that documents methods, contributions, outputs, data, software, funding, collaboration, and impact accurately.

Make contribution and output status unambiguous.

When to use

  • Use for research employment, fellowships, laboratories, institutes, or research-intensive industry roles.
  • Do not list submitted work as published, claim honorary authorship, expose participants, or inflate grant ownership.

Procedure

  1. Confirm audience, required format, review criteria, page limit, and relevant research domain.
  2. Inventory appointments, education, methods, datasets, software, publications, preprints, presentations, funding, supervision, and service.
  3. Verify authorship order, contribution, output type, status, DOI, date, venue, correction, and retraction state.
  4. Distinguish principal investigator, co-investigator, contributor, applicant, and funded amount attributable to the candidate.
  5. Describe methods and infrastructure through concrete research questions and outputs.
  6. Add contribution statements for collaborative work where title alone is ambiguous.
  7. Include research data, code, protocols, policy use, practice change, or replication evidence when relevant.
  8. Apply one citation style, remove duplicates, and maintain a versioned master record.
  9. Cross-check against ORCID, repositories, institutional records, and permissions.
