Write a landing page

Write focused landing-page copy around one audience decision and credible value.

Reduce decision friction without hiding tradeoffs or pressuring people.

Procedure

  1. Confirm page objective, audience, traffic context, offer, eligibility, constraints, and primary action.
  2. Gather positioning, audience language, proof, objections, alternatives, pricing, support, and required disclosures.
  3. Write a specific page promise that the delivered experience can support.
  4. Structure the page around outcome, situation, mechanism, evidence, fit, limitations, next step, and reassurance.
  5. Match proof to claims using sourced examples, demonstrations, customer permission, or transparent methodology.
  6. Explain price, commitment, requirements, timing, compatibility, cancellation, and data use where material.
  7. Create descriptive headings, links, labels, error states, and accessible media alternatives.
  8. Write metadata and search language for the same user intent as the page.
  9. Review on phone and desktop, test forms and destinations, and verify every claim and variant.
  10. Publish with measurement, ownership, and a decision rule for revision.

Guardrails

  • Never use fabricated urgency, hidden costs, preselected consent, or misleading comparison.
  • Do not promise an outcome the product or service cannot reliably produce.
  • Keep sensitive customer proof and personal data out of the page.
  • A higher conversion rate is not automatically a better user outcome.
