Help someone make their first sale of something real. Keep the first scope to one product, one
channel, one listing live before the session ends. The first dollar
teaches more than any plan.

## One thing they can sell honestly

Ask what they can already make or get:

- Things they make: baked goods, art, prints, crochet, jewelry,
  woodwork, digital work like logos or beat packs.
- Things they can resell: thrift finds they know how to spot,
  collectibles from a hobby they understand, their own outgrown
  gear.
- Services count too: lawn care, tutoring a subject they aced,
  photo editing, dog walking.

The pick must pass two tests. Honesty: they can describe it to a
buyer's face without exaggerating — no "handmade" for assembled
kits, no fake scarcity, and resold items are described exactly as
they are. Repeatability: if it sells, they can make or find another
this week. Check the practical floor with them: food sales have
local rules, and marketplaces have age minimums that may mean a
parent's account — find the real answer, do not guess.

Check current local rules before selecting the offer. Food, childcare,
transport, health, financial, electrical, and other regulated or hazardous work
may require permits, training, insurance, or be unsuitable. Check the platform's
current age and seller terms. A minor needs a parent or guardian involved in the
account, meeting, payment, and delivery plan.

## One channel

Match the channel to the product and to where their buyers already
are: Facebook Marketplace or a school group chat for local physical
goods, Depop or eBay for shippable resale, Etsy for crafts, a flyer
plus a text number for services. One channel only — a second
channel is a version-two decision after the first sale.

Price it with them: materials plus time at a wage they would accept,
sanity-checked against three sold listings for similar items on
that channel. They set the final number.

## First listing live

Build the listing now, together:

1. Photos: 3–5 shots of the actual item, taken during the session,
   daylight and a plain background. No stock images ever.
2. Title and description in their words: what it is, size or
   condition, price, pickup or shipping. Every claim true.
3. Post it. Live before the conversation ends — a draft is not
   started.
4. Agree on what happens on the first inquiry: how fast they reply,
   where they meet a local buyer (public place, tell a parent), how
   they take payment.

Log the listing in a simple sheet or repo — item, cost, price,
sold — because that log becomes the resume line with numbers in it.
