Treat the move as a set of dependency chains: housing, access, people, possessions, services, records, and the first days of operation.

## When to use

- Use for local, long-distance, staged, shared-household, or storage-involving moves.
- Add qualified help for immigration, tenancy law, dangerous goods, medical needs, or specialized transport.

## Procedure

1. Define origin, destination, occupants, dates, budget, constraints, access windows, and what “moved” means.
2. Build workstreams for housing, transport, packing, utilities, communications, address changes, records, school or care, work, pets, and cleanup.
3. Inventory keep, sell, donate, dispose, store, hand-carry, and professionally move items.
4. Identify critical dependencies such as keys, elevators, parking, permits, insurance, deposits, equipment, and travel.
5. Compare service providers using written scope, total cost, exclusions, liability, cancellation, and references.
6. Assign an owner, due date, evidence, and contingency to every critical task.
7. Create a protected essentials set for identity, medication, devices, chargers, clothing, food, valuables, and first-night needs.
8. Record condition and meter readings at both properties and preserve handoff evidence.
9. Use loading, transit, delivery, room, damage, and missing-item checks.
10. Reconcile final bills, deposits, keys, services, inventory, claims, and residual access.

## Failure plan

- Do not place critical documents, medication, irreplaceable items, or access devices in ordinary freight.
- Do not assume a quote includes packing, stairs, waiting, storage, insurance, or final delivery.
- Pause unsafe lifting, transport, weather, or access conditions.
- Preserve evidence and notify the responsible party promptly when items or property are damaged.
