The season photo archive
Use with: build-website. Resume line when done: Built {project_name}, a curated photo archive of a team season, sourced from {n} families — live at {url}
Brief
Every parent on your team has thirty photos from the season sitting on their phone, and nobody has all of them. Collect them, pick the good ones, caption them with the game and date, and put the season in one place. The team gets the link and finally sees the whole season instead of their own phone's slice of it.
Personalize
- The team and the season. Your team (or your sibling's), a season that is finished or nearly so. The coach or team manager knows the plan and okays it before you start collecting.
- The collection route. The parents' group chat is usually the channel. Ask once, clearly: which games, how to send, by when. Expect a trickle and a second ask.
- The cut. Thirty photos per parent means hundreds arrive. Pick the keepers: sharp, tells a moment, shows someone doing something. Credit the photographer under each photo.
Milestones
- Coach or manager okays the project; the ask goes to the parents' chat.
- Photos collected and organized by game while they arrive.
- Consent pass: every player who appears in a kept photo (their parent, for younger teammates) has okayed being on the site. Any photo without full consent is cut, without exception.
- Archive live at a URL, organized by game, captioned with dates and photographer credits.
- Coach reviews the whole site before the link goes out.
- Link shared to the team and parents' chat; corrections and additions handled. Final README.
