Desk setup page
Use with: build-website. Resume line when done: Built and maintains a fully documented gear page — live at {url}
Brief
Your desk, documented: every item on and around it, what it is, what it cost, why it is there, and what you would change. Setup pages are a whole genre online; yours is the honest version, with the tangled cables left in the photo and the regret purchases admitted. It stays alive after launch: when the setup changes, the page changes.
Personalize
- Your desk as it is. Photograph it before any tidying beyond what you would do for a friend visiting. The page documents the desk you use.
- The full inventory. Everything: the monitor and also the mug, the lamp, the thing you fidget with. Real prices, or "gift" or "found" where true.
- The verdicts. For each item, would you buy it again? The no answers are what make the page worth reading.
Milestones
- One wide photo and a five-item list live at a URL, day one.
- Complete inventory with photos of each item at your desk, in place.
- Write-ups: what, cost, why it earned its spot, the would-you- rebuy verdict.
- A wishlist section: what you would change and what stops you.
- Layout pass: image-heavy pages punish sloppy sizing, so make it load fast and read well on a phone.
- First update shipped after something on the desk changes. Final README.
