The camera roll, curated
Use with: build-website. Resume line when done: Published a curated photography portfolio and shot {n} events on commission from it
Brief
You already shoot your friends' games and events. Pick your twenty best shots, put them on a page, and use the page to offer shooting the next event on purpose. The hard part is the cut from hundreds to twenty; the offer rides on how ruthless the cut is.
Personalize
- The twenty. From your own camera roll, cut hard. Twenty is a ceiling. If shot fifteen is weaker than shot five, the page is better at fifteen.
- The consent. Everyone recognizable in a published shot said yes. For teammates, ask in the team chat and keep the answers.
- The offer. The next game, recital, or birthday you could shoot deliberately. Free or a small price, with delivery promised as a shared album within a stated number of days.
- The client. One team, club, or family with an event coming up. Name them in your plan before you build.
Milestones
- Longlist of sixty pulled from the camera roll, cut to twenty.
- Consent collected for every recognizable person; refusals cut without argument.
- Page live by mid-week: the twenty, the offer, the contact.
- Offer sent to the one team, club, or family you picked.
- The event shot and the album delivered on the promised day.
- Final README: what you shot, what you delivered, what the next twenty should look like.
Done means
- Live URL responding; images compressed enough to load fast on a phone
- Every recognizable person consented; anyone who declined does not appear
- Honest-claims check passed: every photo on the page was shot by you
- First offer sent and the response logged in SESSIONS.md, which has an entry per session
- If the shoot was paid, the price was agreed before the event and handled by you in person
